Social Development are seeking the Assembly’s approval on the Occupational Pension Schemes (Contracting-out) (Amendment) Regulations.

Gregory Campbell will take to the floor in what is expected to be a finite number of appearances as Culture Minister. He will tackle the usual peppering of language and sport stadia questions but Basil McCrea takes the prize for most ambitious question on the feasibility of a National Gallery.   

The DUP have a private members motion on the levels of income for Ex-service pensioners calling on the UK Veteran’s minister to heed calls by the Royal British Legion and Age Concern for reform.

Finally to complete the aquatic theme in the chamber for the day East Antrim MLA David Hilditch will sponsor a debate on Shellfish Regulations for Recreational Fishermen in his constituency.

In the committees Employment and Learning will give final consideration to the way forward on apprenticeships, while their colleagues on Agriculture face a considerable agenda. The Assembly and Executive Review committee are in London to meet Justice Minister Jack Straw and the Business Committee will sit to consider next week’s agenda.

- Motion – Increased Income for Ex-Service Pensioners

- Proposed: That this Assembly supports the campaign by the Royal British Legion and Age Concern to increase the income of ex-service pensioners who are living on an income below the minimum required for healthy living; and calls on the Minister for Veterans to implement the reforms proposed in the campaign.
