stormont2The amount of legislation flowing through the assembly is up 100% this week…. to two. The Department of Social Development continues to lead the way seeking approval of amendments to Child Support and Social Security Regulations while Agriculture and Rural Development want the Assembly to consider the Diseases of Animals Bill.

OFMDFM top the bill at question time and will be probed across the range of items within their wide and varied stable. The Environment Minister will focus on planning, national parks and climate change among other issues, although don’t expect him to take Roy Beggs Jr. double jobbing slanted question lying down. Finally the Finance Minister will field a range of questions on the performance and efficiencies of the various advisory groups, reviews and units under his charge.

The SDLP conclude the day with a private member’s debate on the civil service equal pay claim that calls on the Minister for Finance and Personnel to resolve the matter within three months.
