bagsSainsbury’s supermarket due to open at the Kennedy Centre in late summer has come on board as one of the lead sponsors and community partner for Feile an Phobail 2009.

 

Sainsbury’s will be involved with a number of key events throughout the Festival which runs from 31st July to 9th August 2009. Sainsbury’s will open the Carnival Parade with a float designed in conjunction with Oscailt Disability programme. They will be supporting the Party in the Park, Clonard Concert and a number of art exhibitions as well as sporting events such as the Annual Poc Fada and the ‘Hike a Day’.

Local people will also get to experience a taste of Sainsbury’s during the Kennedy Centre Food Festival. Shoppers will have a chance to taste some of Sainsbury’s renowned ‘Feed Your Family for a Fiver’ recipes and sample some tasty treats from local suppliers.

 

Sean Largey, new store manager for Sainsbury’s West Belfast said, “Sainsbury’s is committed to working with the local community. This festival is all about bringing people together in a celebration different cultures and communities. We are delighted to be involved in this year’s extensive programme of events. It will give people of the area an idea of what to expect from the new Sainsbury’s when it opens in less than eight weeks time.”

 

Management and staff from the new store will also be working with the Feile Youth and Arts Development Programme on a Fashion Show to showcase the new TU Fashion range which will be available at Sainsbury’s. The clothes and accessories will be modelled by Curley’s staff who will soon become Sainsbury’s colleagues.
