The Quays Shopping Centre in Newry is going ‘Potter’ mad this weekend to celebrate the launch of the new film ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’.
On Saturday 18th July young Potter fans will get the chance to have a wizard makeover with magic wands, Harry Potter glasses and face painting. Shoppers will also have a chance to win one of 10 pairs of tickets to see the new film courtesy of Omniplex Cinemas at The Quays.
Cathal Austin, Centre Manager at The Quays said, “We had a really successful event at the centre when the last book was launched so we know there are lots of The Quays shoppers who are Harry Potter fans. We wanted to welcome the film and decided what better way would there be than to give young shoppers Potter makeovers. Along with the makeovers we will have popcorn samples from Omniplex Cinemas, Harry Potter music and clips from some previous films showing throughout the day.”
Peter O’Hare, Manager of Omniplex Newry said, “We are anticipating huge interest in this film from the local audience. Previews start on Wednesday 15th July at 11.15am and there will be 7 shows each day for the launch period. We are delighted that The Quays are hosting the event on Saturday and we hope that there will be lots of ‘Potter’ fans around to enjoy it.”
The fun kicks off at 12 noon and will go on until 4pm.
