The Quays Shopping Centre has a special treat in store for dads on Father’s Day weekend 20th and 21st June with the return of the Dad Zone.
The Dad Zone first appeared at The Quays during the 2006 World Cup and this year it is back bigger and better than ever.
The Dad Zone is dedicated to Dad’s who are reluctant shoppers and gives them the chance to enjoy their Quays experience even more. The Dad Zone is set up like a living room with a wide screen TV and sofas courtesy of Debenhams. Throughout the weekend the centre will be showing some of the televised sports highlights including the British Grand Prix, Royal Ascot and The European Team Championships Athletics. Dads will also have a chance to try out the latest computer games available including Mario Cart on the Nintendo Wii from GameStop, compete for prizes and to enter a competition for a weekend break for two.
While dads are relaxing they can read the daily papers and sample snacks from BB’s Coffee and Muffins. There will be spot prizes throughout the day including vouchers for GameStop and passes for the Omniplex at The Quays.
Cathal Austin, Centre Manager at The Quays said, “We like to offer activities and facilities for all ages of shoppers. With Father’s Day on Sunday 21st June we thought it was time to treat Dads. Many men are reluctant shoppers and so will hopefully happily avail of the opportunity to take a break for a short time to sit down, relax, watch TV, read the paper or play the games console. One lucky dad will even win a weekend break courtesy of The Quays. All shoppers can enter the free draw at the Dad Zone for the weekend break. We would like to thank GameStop for their support and all of the stores at the centre who are taking part in this event.”
The Dad Zone will be open during trading hours on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June.
