Following a decision to semi-retire last year Jack and Pat Murphy have reaffirmed their commitment to providing quality jewellery and diamonds in the heart of Newry city with a significant investment in a shop refit at their premises on Hill Street.
The refit will see the old mixed with the new bringing the traditional friendly service and expertise in diamonds and designer jewellery together with a new, modern look and feel, new contemporary jewellery lines and a number of new personnel.
Jack Murphy will still be involved in the business on the buying side but will now be joined by daughter Gemma Murphy and recently appointed manager Kate Walker along with the rest of the team.
Jack Murphy said, “When I stepped back from the business last year we scaled back with the view to completely retiring from the jewellery business. However, when Gemma expressed an interest in getting involved and we appointed Kate to the very able team we have working with us we decided to change our approach. The refit comes at a time when businesses need to look at growing their business and being prepared for the upturn. We have always been renowned for our quality diamonds and exceptional customer service. This will continue but we also hope to cater for a new audience with the ranges we have introduced and the new layout in the shop.
“We are now stocking a fantastic collection of children’s jewellery from Molly Brown and adult ranges such as Troll Bead, Ungar &Ungar, Fred Bennett, Paul Costelloe and TW Steel which are favoured by many ‘fashionistas’, celebrities and industry experts.”
Jack Murphy added, “To celebrate the refit and the new look JMJ we are hosting a ’12 days of Christmas’ promotion. We would like to thank our customers and staff for their patience during the work at the shop and hope to welcome new and old faces to Jack Murphy’s over the coming weeks and months.”
The 12 Days of Christmas promotion will run from 25th November to 6th December 2009. During this period all stock will be VAT free resulting in a 15% saving on all products.
